Wish I could give it more stars!!!!
By Isaiah M.
Installed it in my '07 Impala and absolutely LOVE it!!! Fits just fine in place of the stock unit even with the wiring harness & steering wheel control units tucked in behind it. All the features are really easy to use, even easier to find, & with the button illumination control, I can even match the button color to all the other controls in the dash, which makes it look like a stock unit. The sound is GREAT (it IS a pioneer after all) and the Bluetooth is flawless! Great sound on both ends of the call and the long mic wire lets you mount the mic about anywhere. Decided to save a few hundred bucks and forego the navigation unit and just use my iPhone navigation and connect the Bluetooth audio to hear it through the speakers. A great unit at a great price ($372). MUCH better than I expected for the price! Do not pass this deal up!

Good Sound
By vwsurf
This is one of the best sounding radios that I have used with my iPhone. "3Gs"
Very easy to find songs, the sound and eq work very well. My Sub is much louder then my old Eclipse radio.
I use shuffle most of the time and its a little slow to skip through songs about 3-5 sec delay on each song. which is why I gave 4-stars.

VIDEOS from phone work good, video did not work second time i used it call Pioneer was told to restart phone and then the video came back.

While talking to Pioneer they told me that the radio was not under WTY because I bought it through a 3rd party "amazon" I'm guessing amazon and the company that sold it to me we work this out if a wty issue come up.

DVD- Sounds good and the picture sometimes looks a little grainy.

APPRadio- I tried using it once had a hard time with it and deleted it going to re-install and try again.

BACK-UP Camera- Works good with good picture, I got the $15 camera and look pretty good have not used at night yet.

BLUETOOTH- Works very well most can't tell I'm using it. Every once in awhile I have to reconnect with my phone.

Overall very nice I will update once I figure out how to use app radio and hope to use the NAV section..

Android users take notice.
By Ghenghis
OK, my local dealer sold me a bill of goods, the only thing you can do with your Android
phone is make calls (which it handles quite nicely, totally handsfree), and stream Pandora
via Bluetooth. However, you cannot access playlists on your phone via the USB connection. You
get an error message saying iPod/USB Connection Unknown! WTF??? I've contacted Pioneer for
information on further mods for AppRadio, Android, etc. but haven't heard back. I'll post
anything I find out. I was also told this deck was compatible with the Waze navigator app,
but its not compatible. Neither is the AppRadio app. No problem pairing my Galaxy S3 by
Bluetooth.

This was installed in place of a stock Mercedes CD Deck/Changer. The look is stunning to be
honest, and it looks so good in fact the rest of the cockpit looks like crap now in comparison.
The 8 factory speakers have never sounded so good. At 50W/channel this unit pumps out more than
enough power for the average user and when playing CDs or streaming Pandora the sound is just
phenomenal. I'm glad they didn't talk me into speaker upgrades cause I dont need them. And BTW,
anything you open whether its a radio app or a media player will stream via bluetooth, you will
still have trouble with the play titles, Pioneer needs to address this.

DVDs look pretty good, but there is a lot of glare on the display...Pioneer should have fixed that
because its a problem, especially in the Florida sun. My other complaint is that the UI and screen
graphics/backgrounds look like they were designed by an overexcited teenager. A little too much bling
for my tastes knowhudahmsayin? One minor aggravation, if you skip your Pandora playlist, the display
title gets stuck on the song you skipped until you restart Pandora, or your car, whichever happens
first. Argggh! Oh yeah, here I am several days later and the display just reset itself to a title
I played last weekend when I opened Pandora, I'm sure if I kept this unit another month this review
would reflect one pitiful star.

I had them pull out a USB connector and an Auxiliary connector into the console glove box so I can
listen to playlists from the phone while I charge my S3, which of course doesn't work. This unit is
totally optimized for iPhone and I see a Class Action suit on the horizon. All in all I'm not happy
with the purchase, but I would be a little happier if not for all the adapters and fitment kits for
my car.

One more note, I sent a picture of the install to my son and he was so impressed he ran out and bought
one for his 4Runner, and he confirms this thing works as advertised with the iPhone 5 and AppRadio. And
according to all the forums, Pioneer has no intention of adding AppRadio capability to this unit for
Android users. Bad business IMHO, looks like I'll have to upgrade to an AppRadio 3 deck which to add
to the total confusion is not even listed on Pioneer's website alongside their DVD Receiver line.

Pioneer is catching a lot of flack on the forums for their neglect of the huge Android market in favor
of what appears to be a sole source agreement with Apple. And even to make AppRadio 3 work properly you
will need a $35 third party app and a rooted phone to make the damn thing work as it should. If I had
known all this beforehand I would have bought an Alpine or Kenwood. Big thumbs down to Pioneer, they
dropped the ball on this entire product line.
