Two USB ports and all the power you need!

It is the first car charging adapter that I have tested that outputs 2.1 Amps out of two USB ports simultaneously. This gives it the power to charge two iPads or smart tablets simultaneously. The same ports can also charge your smart phones, Android devices, and multiple devices that need 5 VDC and 2.1 Amps per port or less. The charger features smart autosensing device detection and intelligently determines the device type and it sets the current output to charge it at the fastest available rate.

When plugged into your vehicle's power outlet there is a blue LED inside to light up the ports so you can see where they are in the dark and plug in your devices. I like that the LED light is on the inside as it is not a bright LED on the face of the charger that lights up the inside of your car at night. The unit comes with a 1 year product warranty.

In my testing I charged an iPad 2 and an iPad 3 simultaneously without any issues and I charged an iPad 2 and a Kindle fire at the same time. Just remember to take the appropriate device cables with you for the products that you want to charge. Around the back of the charger there are small ventilation ports so make sure that the charger does not get covered up like with a jacket as it may get warm.

It is important to remember that many vehicles have the output voltage for their chargers powered all the time so if you forget and leave your tablet or phones plugged in all night then you may run down your car battery. It does output 5 VDC at 4.2 Amps so it is like having a 21 watt light bulb on it your car all night or at least until your devices are charged.

I like this car charger as it outputs a lot of power and we travel a lot. We carry two phones with us and at least one if not two iPads. It is nice to be able to charge two devices as quickly as possible. I rate this charger as a 5 star product.

Works, but not well for a Nexus 7

The charger works and will charge my Droid RAZR Maxx at 1.1A with a standard usb cable and at 1.4A with a charge only cable (data wires shorted together).

The problem for me is that I bought this to charge my Nexus 7 that I use in the dashboard as a Sat Nav system. This charger will only charge the Nexus at .4A even though it is meant to be charged at 2A. Using a charge only cable made no difference.

So in the end this is the cheapest 2 port 2.1A charger on amazon, and it may or may not work with your device. So if you can confirm your device works with the reviews of this charger then buy it. It is an amazing deal and looks great. However if you want to charge you N7 looks somewhere else.

All the currents in this review were measured by splicing the power line of an extra usb cord with an inline ammeter.

great car charger

Needed a new car charger for my Note 2, the one I had from my old phone couldn't deliver the juice my new Samsung device craves. Went looking around online and found this one. Bluerigger (my seller) answered my question almost instantly assuring me the cx420 would deliver 2.1 amps to any device, not just apple devices. Sure enough, I was running navigation on full screen brightness and my charge percentage kept rising. Now I haven't checked if the Note 2 recognizes the cx420 as an ac source, but I'm almost certain it does. Will update when I check. Seller and product 5 stars.
