Probably the Best Cassette Adapter for you iPhone
By JaredL
For some reason my 03 model truck has a tape player in it, so I was forced to buy one of these. At first I was looking at FM transmitters, but they were too expensive. I saw one of these (not Phillips) at a Dollar General for $6 so I picked it up. Once I plugged it in I realized it wouldn't go in all the way with the cover on, because it has an elbow plug and I wasn't about to take the cover on and off every time so I then went to find an adapter that would have a straight plug and it was $5 with this Phillips being $10 and I wasn't impressed with the sound quality of the first so I just bought this Phillips one instead.
I was disappointed to see that the plug was also elbowed since it didn't appear that way on the box, but it did fit even with my Speck case on. The sound quality is pretty good and it was playing my Slacker Radio through all speakers clearly (DG's was only coming through the passenger side), but I did have to turn it up a lot to be loud enough over my truck noise (stock mufflers). It definitely is serving it's purpose and I'm glad I bought it to replace my Dollar General special instead of the adapter I was going to buy.
BTW I'm using this with an iPhone 4s, I know I'm always looking for what device when I read these.
UPDATE: I turned up the volume on my Slacker player on my phone and now I can BLAST music through the speakers of my truck, so make sure the volume on the phone is up.

Great!
By G. Black
I have to buy tape adapters about once a year or so because the wires keep shorting out. I just bought this Philips one, and I've never bought a Philips one before. This is so far my favorite one. It seems sturdy and well made. It fits snugly and securely into my iPhone, even with a case on. The cassette end is also very quiet in the tape player. Other brands have always been kind of loud, but this one is pretty quiet so far. The tape has a couple of large, easy open screws on the front so that you can change the position of the wire from the side to the top if you have a front-loading tape player. A very nice feature if you need it. It seems like perhaps finally I can keep a tape adapter a little longer this time.

Great Quality for the Money
By Alex M
I bought a cassette adapter for my 2003 Infiniti I35 (so if you have a similar car this might be particularly helpful) from Wal Mart and it cost $15. It was so awful that I took it back less than 24 hours later. I then decided to get this one because it was half the price and Phillips was a good brand so I figured that I could trust it. When I first played my iPhone through the adapter, I was so amazed by the sound that I would have easily paid $25 for it.
After a couple of days, I have realized it wasn't quite as amazing as I thought, but it is still good.
The adapter makes NO HUMMING OR BUZZING NOISE AT ALL when it is playing. There is NO FUZZY STATIC SOUND WHEN YOU PLAY THE MUSIC. however, when you turn it up louder, the sound becomes lower in quality much more so than a CD or the radio, but the lack of humming and static remains.
