Good Enough for a Sweet Promo Vid, Not Sturdy Enough for Real Life

I owned mine for 23 days, did 11 rides for 502 miles on a road/cross bike (only on paved roads or limestone, no single track or racing). The plastic clips that connect the holster to the bar mount sheared off on a 30mph downhill. I don't remember hitting any bumps, but who knows. Luckily no cars behind me, and it didn't happen on a bridge. The case salvaged the phone, although it looks like it's been to hell and back. I will not trust this for regular use again. It would probably be okay for light trail riding with soft tires or suspension, but not on a stiff bike made for speed.

Nice addition to the handlebars while cycling

This mount works well if used correctly. Like most guys, I failed to read the instructions and mounted the phone on the mount and didn't LOCK it. I was flying down the back side of Mount Palomar on a road bike at about 40mph when I hit a bump and the phone flew off. The case bounced all over the road. Luckly, the iphone was not damaged due to the Lifeproof "shock proof" feature. It was only then that I realized you have to lock the mechanism to keep the phone from falling out. I would have given it a 5 star but the mount makes a slight vibration sound that is a little annoying.

Easy to install and use

The Lifeproof bike mount works great and installs very easily. Installation is a snap with no tools required.
The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of a 5 is because the mount portion that attaches to the handle bars is a little on the small side. I decided I wanted to attach it to the handlebar stem (middle portion that goes through the headset and attached the handlebars) and it was almost too small with the rubber grommet. I had to take another rubber grommet I happened to have from my old phone mount that was much thinner.
Other than that though, attachment to the mount is simple and it seems sturdy enough. I like the fact that I do not have to remove the phone from the case to attach it like I used to have to do with my old Ram mount.
Pros:

- No need to remove the phone from your Lifeproof case making it waterproof
Cons:
- Mount is a little on the small side for large handlebars or handlebar stems
