Excellent deal!!!

I spent hours on Amazon trying to find an FM Transmitter for the car to work with the iPhone 4 and an mp3 player. My husband had purchased one from Radio Shack over a year ago (for $70!) and the cord began to short. I about died the first time he paid that much, so I was not going to let it happen again after the thing didn't last long at all! So literally after looking for hours and hours (not exaggerating) and reading review after review, I found that almost all had issues with shorting out, static, etc--no matter how cheap or how expensive. I decided I'd rather gamble with $20 or less instead of $70-90. I got ready to order one, and found a review on it that stopped me. I was about to give up when I saw this one. After reading the description it was exactly what we needed and then some. Sounded like a handy setup. Reviews were good and the price was right so I gave it a shot. It HAS NOT disappointed!! It is small so it doesn't take up a bunch of room with the transmitter. It can be unplugged so you don't have the typical wear on the cord. And if something does happen to the cord, it's a standard charger so old cellphone chargers should work. This is an awesome deal!! This made my husband's day and he has thanked me over and over for not giving up on finding one. He has had no complaints. I hope that it lasts and lasts. And if it don't, I'll probably be back to get another anyway. This is a great idea and setup...genius!

Best FM Transmitter I have owned

I have had 3 FM transmitters over the years and this is by far the best. The sound quality is 10x better than the others. In the past I had to crank the volume waaay up and max out the cars EQ to get good volume and decent sound. With this one I keep the volume at normal levels and flattened the stereo EQ cause it wasnt needed! The sound quality is top notch and far exceeds that of transmitters I have owned that cost 10 times more.

One feature I love is that the transmitter and the charger part are not one unit, they are connected via mini/micro USB (I forget which is which). I like this since my last FM transmitter broke due to the cord continually getting caught on the E-brake and other things in the car so the wires slowly pulled out over time. This one the chord just pops out and you just plug it back in, NO PERMANENT DAMAGE!

I for one do not mind the charger doesnt charge without another cable. I just plug it in when my ipod needs to charge then unplug it when it is charged. Less clutter and cables to get caught on things! Also I can charge my phone while using my Ipod. Others would require to unplug the transmitter and put in a separate charger. In fact since the transmitter can disconnect from the charger portion you could use it to charge another device in a pinch.

I have only one minor complaint. The item came without any paperwork or manual so it took me a few minutes to figure out how to turn it on and that it needed to be turned on as others I have had turned on as soon as the car was started without having to actively turn it on.

Sound is fuzzy

The sound quality is fuzzy.
I switched through multiple frequencies to see if that made the sound clear and it did not.

*I thought the description "eForCity 3.5mm Universal FM Transmitter with Car Charger, Black" meant the car charger would charge the mp3 and it does not. It charges the transmitter only.
